Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach & Beyond

Last updated: September 2026

If you are looking for art fairs in South Florida in fall 2026, the season begins relatively quietly and builds toward one of the busiest periods in the international art calendar: Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami Beach in December.

From September through December, South Florida’s art calendar includes juried fine-art festivals, outdoor art fairs, contemporary art fairs, local artist markets and, eventually, the extraordinary concentration of international fairs that takes over Miami and Miami Beach in December.

This guide covers the major cities and art destinations across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, with dates added as they are officially confirmed.

September 2026 Art Fairs in South Florida

September is one of the quieter months for major South Florida art fairs.

Delray Beach, Florida

The Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival on 4th takes place September 26–27, bringing artists and makers to downtown Delray Beach.

This is better categorized as a craft festival rather than a contemporary art fair, but it belongs on the broader South Florida art calendar for visitors interested in discovering independent artists and makers.

How to Plan an Art-Fair Weekend in South Florida

You don’t need to visit every fair.

In fact, trying to do that is probably the fastest way to make an art weekend exhausting.

Instead, choose your experience.

Looking for major international galleries?

Start with Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Miami and Design Miami.

Looking for emerging artists?

Consider NADA, Untitled Art and some of the smaller independent fairs.

Interested in Latin American art?

Add Pinta Miami to your itinerary.

Interested in works on paper?

Don’t miss INK Miami Art Fair.

Want a more local experience?

Explore Las Olas Art Fair, Delray Beach, Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens.

Want to discover something unexpected?

Don’t plan every hour.

Leave room for galleries, artist studios, exhibitions and cultural events that aren’t necessarily marketed as major fairs.

Don’t Only Follow the Biggest Art Fairs

The major fairs are important.

But South Florida’s art ecosystem is much larger than the biggest names.

A weekend spent only moving between the largest convention-center fairs can give you a very particular version of the South Florida art scene.

The more interesting question is:

What else is happening?

A local artist showing work in a neighborhood gallery.

A temporary exhibition you’ve never heard about.

An artist-run space.

An small gallery opening.

That’s where Miami Art Map comes in.

We aren’t interested in making a list of only the events everyone already knows.

We’re interested in helping people discover what they didn’t know was happening.

The South Florida Art Calendar Is Bigger Than Miami

Miami may dominate the international conversation in December, but the South Florida art scene is regional.

From Palm Beach Gardens and Boca Raton to Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Coconut Grove and Miami Beach, different communities contribute to the region’s creative landscape.

That means your fall art itinerary doesn’t have to begin and end in Miami.

You can make a weekend of it.

Visit an art fair in Fort Lauderdale.

Explore galleries in Miami.

Spend an afternoon in Delray Beach.

Head north to Palm Beach Gardens.

Then return to Miami for Art Week in December.

The map is bigger than the fair.
